Already, readers of the Leicester Mercury have voted Dusty Hare, Rory Underwood, Sir Clive Woodward, Paul Dodge, John Duggan, Bleddyn Jones, Austin Healey, Graham Rowntree, Peter Wheeler, Steve Redfern, Martin Johnson and Matt Poole into the Walk of Legends line-up.
All that remain are the back-row positions, but competition is sure to be fierce.
Tigers have been blessed with some amazing talents in the back-row positions over the years, from the likes of former Ireland and British Isles international George Beamish in the pre-War years, to club record appearance holder David Matthews and modern greats Dean Richards, Neil Back, Martin Corry and Lewis Moody.
Angus Collington, chairman of the Past Players’ Association (Droglites) and a former Tigers back rower, says: “It is very difficult to call. We have been blessed over a long period of time with so many good back-row players.
"I am sure that has helped make us successful, because we can secure the ball and have possession. They have done the donkey work for the backs to exploit.”
So who would Collington pick in his back row?
“I am sure Deano will get the No8 vote because he was always in the thick of things, securing the ball,” says Collington.
“At openside, in another era David Matthews was king but I remember him more as a No8. For excitement, you have to say Lewis Moody because he does bring an edge to the game.
“The blindside, I played with Graham Willars and Steve Johnson while Wellsy was always an unsung hero.
“I have the utmost respect for Graham because he taught me a lot and I have followed him with the Past Players’ Association, but Johnson was a tremendous player and I might pick him.
“It’s very difficult and supporters will have their own views and will remember all the good work that the players have done over the years."
You can decide which names will join the Walk of Legends, but voting through the Leicester Mercury website or completing the coupon from the newspaper.
This week voting is for the blindside flank position from a shortlist of Tom Berry, Steve Johnson, John Wells and Graham Willars. You have up to noon on Monday to make your vote count.
Then look out next week for the shortlisted quartet who will contest the openside flanker spot and then finally the No8 shirt.
Don't forget that, as a supporter, you can also take your own place in the Walk of Legends alongside your all-time favourites.
