The Leicester Tigers matchday squad for Round 1 of the 2022/23 Premiership Rugby Cup has been named.
Tigers travel north to face Sale Sharks on Tuesday (September 20) in the opening game of this season’s Cup campaign.
Included in the starting side are five players - Tom Horton, Josh Manz, Tom Manz, Lachlan Shelley and Jed Walsh - who will make their senior club debuts, while a further four players are in line for their first appearance after being included among the replacements.
Senior Academy lock Rob Carmichael is joined by loan players Charlie Briers and Nathan Langdon from Loughborough University and Marcus Ramage from Nottingham Rugby as the potential debutants on the bench.
The matchday squad includes 12 players to have graduated from the club’s academy programme, including 5 to have made the step up to senior rugby over the summer.
