Michael Cheika put his side's five-point, 21-16, Premiership Play-off victory down to getting the "basics" right.
Speaking after the game, the Leicester Tigers Head Coach said: “I thought we just played the basics well; our fundamentals were good, our communication was good, we were connected in defence."
"Sale have many threats, led by George Ford and I thought we really handled that, handled the pressure, and it presented us opportunities to go on the attack.
"I thought our ruck was good in the first half, but there are some areas that we need to polish up there. But, ultimately, we played the fundamentals really quite well."
Looking ahead, Cheika said he and the side would review their performance, but also encouraged his players to enjoy the moment together.
“We’ll have a look at this – not corrections necessarily, but just what we need to adjust tactically," he said.
"But, we'll do that tomorrow. I want the lads to enjoy the dressing room, you know, we’ve built a great camaraderie in this team, and I want them and the staff to enjoy the dressing room, then enjoy the evening with their families.
"Then myself and the staff can get back in on Monday and we’ll look at the next one."
Cheika admitted the group would need to go up another level ahead of a meeting with Bath, who dominated the season to finish in first place after the regular season.
“We need to go up a level for sure, and it’ll be on us as coaches to give the lads some tips on how they can give that little bit extra," he said.
“They have been the competition leaders for quite a while, and we’ve got to put that into our own perspective."
Asked about the challenge of coming up against Bath, Cheika replied: “It’s funny you know, and I love all you guys, but I’m not too big into the media side, reading it too much."
"My analyst sent me a link to the predictions, can’t remember what paper it was, and whether it was experts or stats, but they all left us out. Then he sent me a link yesterday, and they all had us losing today. A tight one, but losing the game.
“I know we’ll be down there again next week, up against what everyone thinks we can do, against Bath because of the way they’ve played, and it’s up to us to believe in ourselves. That’s the first step to achieving, believing that we can achieve it."
On the last meeting with Bath, the Tigers boss was blunt in his reply.
"They gave us a bit of a tonking when we were down there a few weeks ago," said Cheika.
"Bath is the only team we haven’t beaten yet this year, so we’ve got to find a way to master that opponent. To win the comp you’ve got to beat all the teams, right?"
