Redevelopment: See for yourself

Figure image
Matchday visitors to Welford Road this weekend will be able to check out the progress on the redeveloped Caterpillar Stand as it reaches into the city skyline.

In the three weeks since Leicester Tigers’ last home game, massive changes have occurred on the construction site.

Steelwork has been manoeuvred and secured in place, along with the two stair towers, and visitors will be able to see the scale of the first phase of redevelopment and the size of the new stand which will take capacity up to 24,500 next season.

There are viewing panels in the fence around the contractors’ compound and the top of the new stand is also visible from inside the stadium.

The picture gallery on the club website features regular updates and there are plans to introduce a webcam on the website soon to monitor the building progress.

Tickets are still available for Saturday’s game between Leicester Tigers and Harlequins, come along, enjoy the matchday experience and take a look at how redevelopment work is going.
