Tickets are currently available to club members and to season ticket holders seeking extra places for the first Guinness Premiership game in front of the redeveloped Caterpillar Stand, against Newcastle Falcons on Saturday, September 19 (5.35pm kick-off).
The first phase of stadium redevelopment allows Tigers to welcome 24,000 supporters for matches at Welford Road, and already more than 60 per cent of the capacity has been sold out for the entire season. Monday’s rate of sales shows the enthusiasm for match action at the home of the reigning Guinness Premiership champions.
“Right from the outset, the new Caterpillar Stand seems to have caught the imagination of the public and on Monday morning the ticket office reported great interest in the opening game against Newcastle Falcons from members and existing season ticket holders,” said Tigers managing director David Clayton.
“As the redeveloped stand nears completion, this is an exciting time for the club and our supporters are looking forward to seeing the team back in action next month.
“Kick-off is not too far away now and we would urge supporters to book their places as soon as they are able so they can share in these exciting times.”
Match tickets are on sale to season ticket holders and members only this week. Tickets will be released for general sale on Monday, August 10.
The Tigers ticket office will be open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 6pm over the next two weeks to cope with the expected demand.
