Leicester Tigers fly-half George Ford contributed 24 points to England Under-20s' 74-3 win over their Italian counterparts at Bath on Friday.

“This was a great result for us,” said Ford. “We said all week that we’d like to put Italy to the sword, we’ve struggled against them the last couple of years but today we delivered. It was a real team performance.

“We’ve got a fallow week now before the France game, so we’ll head back to our clubs, regroup and then get back together in Worcester where we play the French.

“It’s good to get a week off and I’m sure we’ll get back into camp chomping at the bit.”

England Under-20s emphatically maintained their 100-per-cent record in this season's 6 Nations campaign after running in 11 tries at the Recreation Ground.

Wasps centre Elliot Daly and Worcester wing Andy Short ran in four tries apiece with fly-half Ford and Newcastle No.8 Alex Gray also touching down. The referee also awarded England a penalty try in the final minute.

Ford also kicked 19 of England’s points with eight converted tries and one penalty.

Tigers flanker Matt Everard retained his place in the starting XV after also playing in the opening win over Wales.
