Team News | Tigers side to play Wasps

Steve Borthwick has named the Leicester Tigers matchday squad for the Gallagher Premiership Round 13 fixture against Wasps this Sunday.

In his 100th appearance for the club, club-captain Ellis Genge is joined by Julián Montoya and Dan Cole in the front row, with Calum Green and Eli Snyman starting in the second row.

In the Leicester back row, Harry Wells and Tommy Reffell are the flankers with Ollie Chessum at No8.

Charlie Clare, Nic Dolly, Joe Heyes and James Whitcombe are the replacement forwards on the Tigers bench.

Jack van Poortvliet partners George Ford as the side’s half-backs, while Dan Kelly and Matt Scott are retained in the midfield.

In the Tigers back-three, Guy Porter and Harry Potter are the wings and Freddie Steward the starting full-back.

Ben Youngs, Freddie Burns and Matías Moroni are the replacement backs on the Leicester bench, while Kini Murimurivalu is again included in the No19 shirt for Sunday’s fixture in Coventry as cover in the pack and back-line.

Previewing the Round 13 fixture, Borthwick said: “Wasps are a team who are capable of scoring points from anywhere on the pitch.

“Their squad is filled with talented players, who want to move the ball.

“The great thing about the Gallagher Premiership is that you are presented with different challenges every week and, on Sunday, we have a new challenge ahead of us as a group.”
