Team Change | Newcastle v Leicester

Leicester Tigers back-rower Olly Robinson is out of tonight's Premiership Rugby Cup fixture against Newcastle Falcons at Kingston Park.

Robinson has remained at home with his wife who is due to give birth.

Nathan Tweedy, who is on loan from Nottingham Rugby, comes into the back-row after originally being named among the replacements for the Cup game.

17-year-old Simon Koroiyadi, who is a member of the current Tigers Academy squad, joins the Leicester bench.

Koroiyadi's addition sees him join fellow current Tigers Academy players Chester Owen and Morgan Meredith in being in line for their senior club debut.

Front-rower Francois van Wyk has been named in Robinson's place as vice-captain.

While the matchday squad remains otherwise unchanged, there has been a change in the Tigers coaches box for the trip to Newcastle.

Brett Deacon, who was leading the coaching team this week, will no longer travel to Newcastle after his wife went into labour this morning.

Assistant Coach Tom Harrison will lead the coaching team in Newcastle in Deacon's place and, ahead of the team's trip north to face the Falcons, said it was an "exciting evening" for the club with so many youngsters getting an opportunity represent Leicester Tigers.

"It is an exciting opportunity for a lot of the young guys in our squad tonight, as well as three kids who are still in our academy programme and were playing Under-18 League a few weeks ago" said Harrison.

"I think it is also a great opportunity for some guys who have not played a lot of rugby recently to get out and play after playing their part in helping prepare the teams that have featured during the past few months while we have had our depth tested with guys away for senior and Under-20s teams in this year's Six Nations.

"You have got a guy like Jaco Taute as well, who makes his first appearance of the season which is fantastic for him after a lot of hard work to get back from injury.

"We know we have a very young, very inexperienced group up against a good, experienced Newcastle team at their home ground with the crowd behind them and, for us, that's an exciting thing as a club to have this group on show in the development competition like the Premiership Cup."
