Tom Varndell and Tom Croft scored first-half tries, together with a penalty try following a close-range scrum, and Matt Cornwell touched down later to make it five wins from five under acting head coach Richard Cockerill.
Tigers went ahead in the third minute after excellent work on halfway by skipper Owen Finegan. He made the tackle on Guillaume Bortolaso, stole possession and was involved again to pass for Varndell to run into the corner. Andy Goode judged the wind perfectly to complete the conversion.
Just a minute later Montauban had their first points after Tigers were penalised at a ruck on their 10-metre line. Fly-half Fabien Fortassin made no mistake with the kick at goal.
Sam Vesty made a superb break in midfield after eight minutes but when his final pass to Varndell was blocked, the referee took play back for a Tigers penalty 25 metres out and Goode made it 10-3.
Scrum-half Christophe Laussucq then made a dart for the line following a close-range line-out and, when he was stopped just short, Brett Deacon was held up over the line. But from the resulting scrum, Tigers gained a penalty try when they had the Montauban pack going backwards on their own line. Goode's conversion stretched the lead to 17-3 after quarter of an hour.
A Goode in front of the posts gave Tigers a 20-3 lead and the third try of the game came after some quick hands along the backline and concerted pressure on the Montauban line before Goode threw a long pass out left for Croft to score and make it 25-3 at half-time.
Ayoola Erinle, in his first game for Leicester, produced a superb defensive effort on the hour mark, holding up Jean Emmanuel Cassin over the tryline after the French winger seemed destined to score after collecting a cross-kick.
Tigers then spent a lengthy period in the Montauban 22, picking up a succession of penalties and scrummaging each time until replacement Cornwell added to score entering the last 10 minutes. After the visitors had been pushed back to their own line, Ollie Smith stepped in to pass and Cornwell showed pace and strength to touch down. Goode added the conversion as Tigers led 32-3.
Second row Matthias Rolland finally grabbed a try for Montauban, diving over from close range and Petre Mitu added the extras to make it 32-10 but Tigers were worthy winners.
