Three Leicester Tigers players have been nominated for the Guinness Premiership Player of the Year award.

Tigers captain Martin Corry, prop Martin Castrogiovanni and flanker Shane Jennings are all on the list of nominations, alongside Saracens fly-half Glen Jackson and Bristol Rugby forward Roy Winters.

Corry won the award in season 2004/05 and lifted his first trophy as Tigers captain at the EDF Energy Cup Final last month, while Castrogiovanni has had a superb first season at Welford Road and Jennings has had another impressive year in Tigers colours.

The winners will be announced at the Guinness Premiership Awards dinner on Wednesday, May 9, at The Nursery Pavilion, Lord's Cricket Ground.

In his second and final season as Tigers head coach, Pat Howard is among the four nominations for Director of Rugby award, while Tigers wing Tom Varndell is listed among those chasing the try of the season award for his score against London Irish.

The awards panel consisted of Andrew Baldock (Press Association), Mick Cleary (Daily Telegraph), Miles Harrison (SKY Sports), Stephen Jones (The Sunday Times), Barry Newcombe (Hayters), Dave Rogers (Getty Images) and Phil Winstanley (Rugby Manager at Premier Rugby).
