The quest to be the best was a common bond as Leicester Tigers hosted the club's major sponsors for an evening at Stapleford Park near Melton Mowbray.

Tigers directors and management welcomed sponsors to the event in the superb surrounds of the country house hotel.

Welcoming the sponsors, Tigers executive chairman Peter Tom CBE remarked on how the growth of professional rugby and the success of the club had been reflected in the strength of its relationships with major national and international brands.

“We are delighted to be able to welcome so many of our major sponsors who play such an important role in the development of the Leicester Tigers,” he said.

Coaching staff and international players including Geordan Murphy, Tom Croft, Toby Flood and Ben Youngs met guests and provided entertainment in the form of question-and-answer sessions. The event also allowed networking between the sponsors and an opportunity to meet senior management from the club.

Justin Stead, chief executive officer of Aurum Holdings, sponsors of the Goldsmiths Stand, said: “This has been an excellent, enjoyable event. The values of Leicester Tigers are a perfect fit with what we aim for as a company, with the ambitions to be the best at what we do, to move forward, to show the importance of teamwork and to have the vision to achieve those aims.”

Gwenne Henricks, president of Perkins Engines Company Ltd, senior official of club main sponsors Caterpillar, thanked Tigers and Stapleford Park for their hospitality, adding: “We’ve taken great enjoyment in the success of the team and we look forward to seeing more success in coming years.”
