Tigers Katie is the strongest link

Leicester Tigers receptionist Katie Allnutt proved she was the strongest link after going head-to-head with Anne Robinson.

Television viewers saw Katie stand up to the Queen of Mean on Wednesday evening and emerge victorious on the popular BBC TV quiz show Weakest Link.

Katie said: “It was very surreal watching myself, it was like I was watching somebody else. It was good but I want to watch it again to make sure I really did win!”

Katie fulfilled a New Year’s resolution when she took part in the Weakest Link after setting herself the challenge of appearing on a television quiz show.

She watched the broadcast with fellow Tigers staff in the European Suite at Welford Road who cheered her every correct answer and booed the contestants who tried to vote Katie off.

Katie said: “It has been fab, I have loved every minute of it.

“I got lots of phone calls. The phone started as the programme started and I was getting texts long after it finished.”

One of her opponents failed to correctly answer a Tigers-related question which Katie said contributed towards her being voted off.

“The contestant was asked ‘As Sharks is to Sale what is to Leicester?’ and they gave the wrong answer,” said Katie. “She was voted off the next round. I would have loved that question!”
