T Denman & Sons have landed the contract to fit-out the ticket office, which will be moving into the new Caterpillar Stand.
And glazing specialists Norman and Underwood, in Scudamore Road, Leicester, have been appointed to provide the glazing and entrance door to the new facility.
Tigers stadium operations manager Charles Rayner said: “There was a rigorous bidding process for the new ticket office fit-out and it is nice that Leicester Tigers are working with local companies and using local labour.
“The work will be starting imminently in good time for the start of the new Guinness Premiership season on September 19.”
Melton Mowbray- based T Denman & Sons have a track-record of working with Tigers having worked on the club’s Academy building in 2002, while Norman and Underwood have already been appointed by Galliford Try, the main build contractors, to provide the glazing in the new 10,600-seat Caterpillar Stand.
Rayner said: “The fit-out will provide state-of-the-art facilities, giving our supporters better service for personal and telephone callers.
“With the additional capacity at Welford Road we will have thousands of additional tickets for sale at each game and it’s vitally important that the ticket office has an improved and bigger facility to handle this extra demand. All too often at other sporting venues, the ticket office is not given the high priority that it needs’’.
Mark Denman, managing director of T Denman & Sons, said: “T Denman & Sons are delighted to be working in partnership with Leicester Tigers once again.
“After the successful completion of the Academy building at the training ground, we look forward to playing our part in the exciting regeneration of the main stadium.
“We are a local company employing local people and it is a pleasure to be involved with this new world class stadium.”
Jason Morris, director of Norman & Underwood, said: “Having previously worked on various contracts for the Leicester Tigers on the existing stands, Norman & Underwood we're very proud to have been awarded the glazing contract for the redevelopment of the new North Stand with Galliford Try and are equally delighted to have been awarded the glazing contract for the new ticket office.
“It is pleasing to see that local contractors are being selected to carry the various scopes of works of this project. We would like to take this opportunity to wish Leicester Tiger every success in the coming season.”
