Mauger is named at inside centre alongside last weekend’s man-of-the-match Seru Rabeni who moves to the No13 berth.
Corry and Moody take their places on the blindside and openside flanks respectively, with England Saxons squad member Jordan Crane selected at No8. Former Wellington Hurricane Ben Herring misses out as a consequence of the foreign players ruling, with Marcos Ayerza the one foreign player named in the side.
Chuter joins fellow internationals Ayerza and Martin Castrogiovanni in the front row as the young props celebrate signing three-year extensions to their current Tigers contracts, while Kay partners England colleague Louis Deacon in the second row.
Mauger’s inclusion in the starting XV is the only personnel change to the backline, with Frank Murphy and Andy Goode continuing at half-back and Tom Varndell joining Geordan and Johne Murphy in the back three.
“We’ve picked a balanced side and we’re very happy with the team,” said Tigers forwards coach Richard Cockerill. “We’re losing some guys next week and they come into the team for Saturday.
“Ben Herring’s been very unfortunate with the foreign rule as he played exceptionally well last week but it’s a strong side and we’re looking forward to it. Seru continues in the centre and he’s in good form. Aaron’s an important part of the team for us as a game manager and we’re excited about seeing Mauger and Rabeni in the centre.
“Newcastle have a got a very competitive set of forwards and their pack has done exceptionally well this year, while their backline speaks for itself. Jonny Wilkinson’s signed a new contract and they’re on a high. Any team that can go to Saracens and win is a very good side so we’ll be treating them with the utmost respect.”
