The pitch has been covered since Thursday and, for further protection, a canopy had been added, under which warm air is blown to provide a second barrier against the weather.
David Clayton, Tigers managing director, said: “The forecast predicts low temperatures for the rest of the week so we have protected the pitch.
“We have an excellent record in terms of combating the weather, with only one game lost to the elements in the last 10 years or so.
“The air blowers and the canopy will ensure the playing surface is in good condition derspite the weather.
“We are also taking steps to ensure the terraces and stands are clear of any ice and we have salt and grit ready.
“Saturday is a massive game for us and one we have to win. We want as many of our supporters as possible to come down here and be that 16th man on the sidelines.”
Tickets for Saturday’s match, which is a 6pm kick-off, are available now from the Tigers ticket office. Phone 0844 856 1880, book online or call in at Welford Road.
