In real terms, a season ticket will offer even better value for money as the fixture list will include at least one more home game.
A new ‘Young Adult and Full-Time Student’ season ticket is also being introduced to help supporters to bridge the gap between junior and adult prices.
Prices will be held at the 2008/09 renewal rates for all season tickets bought before June 1, 2009.
Even after that date, season tickets will only be charged at the current first-time buyer’s rate.
Season tickets will again be available to cover one, two or three seasons and the club will continue to offer an easy-payment scheme which proved popular with supporters this year.
Club managing director David Clayton said: “We have nearly 13,000 season ticket holders and our renewal rates every year are consistently in excess of 90 per cent. But, due to competition regulations, we have previously had to limit the number of season ticket sales and have been unable to satisfy demand.
“The new Caterpillar Stand, which will increase capacity by 6,500 to 24,000 for next season, is a major help in satisfying demand for tickets.
“We believe our season tickets represent great value for money, and next season there will be at least one extra home fixture, and possibly two, depending on the final agreed competitions format.”
The new season ticket category is for full- time students, irrespective of age, and young adults aged between 16 and 21.
“When reviewing season ticket prices, we felt the increase from junior to adult category was too steep,” added David Clayton. “To address this we have introduced the new category which recognises the fact that many young supporters may be in their first jobs and on relatively low incomes.’’
Family season tickets will also be available in Gold category seating for the first time in 2009/10.
More than 1,000 supporters have already registered their interest in buying season tickets for the first time next season.
