Tigers will be running courses at Hinckley, Derby and Swaffham rugby clubs from Monday, July 27 to Friday, July 31.
England international Louis Deacon, who has been named in Martin Johnson’s England Senior Elite Player Squad, will be joined by England Saxons international Ben Woods and England Under-20 international Ben Youngs at the Tigers Rugby Course at Derby RFC.
Props Marcos Ayerza and Martin Castrogiovanni, and wing Johne Murphy will be dropping in to give advice to youngsters taking part on the Tigers Rugby Course at Hinckley RFC.
Youngsters have already benefited from the expertise of Tigers stars on rugby courses this summer. England international fly-half Toby Flood passed on tips when he dropped into last week’s course at Ratcliffe College.
The Hinckley course will be led by Tigers great Ian “Dosser” Smith, who made 331 appearances for Tigers in the mid-1980s. Smith went on to be Tigers head coach as well as head of rugby at Oakham School and has been responsible for nurturing some of the biggest names in world rugby including Martin Johnson, Lewis Moody and current Lions players Tom Croft and Harry Ellis.
The three courses are for players aged between eight and 16 and will challenge them in all aspects of the game. Each player will receive a complimentary ticket to the first home game of the season to help Tigers celebrate the opening of the new Caterpillar Stand at Welford Road. They will also receive a Tigers drinks bottle, T-shirt and rugby ball as well as a hot healthy lunch each day and a personal assessment and feedback form.
A number of places remain available. More information is available from the Tigers community team on 0116 2171 221, or by clicking here.
