Hundreds of youngsters from across the UK will take part in a festival of rugby hosted by Leicester Tigers.

Under-11s and under-12s teams from as far apart as the Channel Islands and Staffordshire and the West Midlands and Norfolk are preparing to compete in the inaugural Land Rover Premiership Cup.

Leicestershire teams Hinckley, Leicester Forest, Market Bosworth, Market Harborough, Melton, Oakham and Stoneygate are also taking part.

The Land Rover Premiership Cup will see each of the 12 Guinness Premiership clubs host a regional festival for junior rugby in the under-11 and under-12 age groups.

Tigers will hold their festival at Oakham RFC on Sunday, April 5. Entries flooded in from around the country and the draw for the competition is below.

Scott Clarke, Tigers community manager, said: "This will be a fantastic opportunity for the young players to showcase their talents.

"The festival will have a national vibe to it. It promises to be an exciting competition with plenty of entertaining rugby."

The lucky winners and runners-up from each age group will then be taken to Twickenham Stadium to be paraded in front of a packed house of 80,000 spectators before the Guinness Premiership Final on Saturday, May 16.

Clarke added: "With such a great prize for the final two teams, the Tigers community team are expecting a fiercely competitive tournament. We would wish all teams taking part the best of luck."
