The two-time European champions are in second place in the pool following a 22-11 reverse in France and know that qualification for the quarter-finals will depend on not only their own results but fortunes elsewhere in the group too.
“It is very difficult to qualify now,” admitted Loffreda. “It is not depending on us, it will depend now on what other teams do. But we will try to continue with our focus on what they have to do.
“We have two more games to play and anything can happen. Edinburgh and Leinster are strong teams and we have to play against them.
“You never know. Edinburgh beat Leinster, Toulouse have to play Leinster and Edinburgh. Anything can happen.”
A first-half try from Tom Varndell briefly gave Tigers the lead at the Stadium de Toulouse on Sunday, but home scores from Clement Poitrenaud and Vincent Clerc helped to avenge defeat at Welford Road in the first of back-to-back meetings the previous weekend.
“We made some mistakes that cost us,” said Loffreda who must now prepare his players for Sunday’s Guinness Premiership trip to Sale Sharks.
“We should have been more clinical in certain circumstances when we were near their goal-line. I think we could have scored maybe twice in the second half but did not.
“At the end we made some mistakes when we were chasing the bonus point but that is something I understand perfectly and I will praise the players for that, they had a go right to the end, but we were playing in our own half.”
