Welford Road is the place to be this Saturday

There is an action-packed day in store at Welford Road on Saturday, with Leicester Tigers against London Irish top of the bill.

A repeat of last season’s Guinness Premiership Final at Twickenham, Tigers and Irish are two of the teams chasing a top four finish and Saturday’s game could have a bearing on the play-off places.

And with a break in the Six Nations this weekend, Tigers could welcome back some of their international stars for the game. Kick-off is at 5.35pm and Final Whistle, public bars, refreshment kiosks and the turnstiles open at 3.35pm.

There is also plenty going on around the ground before and after the game.

Competition sponsors Guinness will bring the game to life for fans with live Sky Sports commentary. They will be distributing free radios to supporters which will broadcast commentary from kick-off to the final whistle.

And following the success of last season’s Guinness Premiership Festivals the interactive games are back, with the Guinness Power Pass and Rugby Reflex adding to the pre-game excitement.

At the beginning of the season the speed of the twelve club captain’s passes was measured on the Guinness Power Pass and Geordan Murphy registered 32.8mph, putting him in 5th place in the Captain’s table.

To test yourself against Tigers captain Murphy head to the Guinness games outside the Caterpillar Stand for your chance to win a Guinness goodie bag.

Tigers are teaming up with ABF The Soldiers' Charity at the match. Formerly The Army Benevolent Fund, ABF The Soldiers' Charity provides support for soldiers, former soldiers and their families in times of need.

The charity's red wristbands will be on sale around Welford Road and Tigers will make a donation to the fund via the club's Cashback Scheme. There will also be an appearance by the Leicestershire & Rutland County Pipe Band.

Copies of Ben Herring’s new children's book, Boris Baloo, will be available from a stall in Final Whistle in the Caterpillar Stand with proceeds going to the Matt Hampson Trust.

And Coral, the official gaming and betting partner of the Guinness Premiership, will hold a new matchday game, the Hi-Lo Challenge, on the pitch at half-time.

With both teams likely to feature a large number of international names, another big crowd is guaranteed on Saturday, but tickets are still available.
