There was a mixed weekend of results for Leicester Tigers players on International duty.

Four Tigers were involved as England fell at the Principality Stadium in a 20-9 loss to Wales. George Martin, making his first England appearance since march 2021, Guy Porter and Freddie Steward all started the game and played the full 80 minutes, with scrum-half Jack van Poortvliet coming off the bench for a half hour cameo, with England on top in the first half but unable to cross the whitewash, the score sitting at 6-9 going into the break.

Wales came back stronger in the second-half, two early tries setting the stage for a big win in their build up to the World Cup.

Saturday also saw 'the battle of the beasts' as a mouthwatering clash between Julián Montoya, who captained his side, and Jasper Wiese saw the two Tigers go head to head representing Argentina and South Africa respectively.

It was the Springboks who came out on top on this occasion in Buenos Aries, triumphing 13-24 in a physical encounter. Both Montoya and Wiese made plenty of powerful carries, the two abrasive forwards leaving their mark before being withdrawn in minute 72 and 57 respectively.

Solomone Kata started on the wing for Tonga as they fell to a heavy final-round defeat in the Pacific Nations cup. The powerful centre was unable to stop his side falling to a 34 - 9 defeat away from home in the Samoan capital of Apia.

A nip and tuck first half saw the home side lead 13-9 at the break but the Samoans pulled away in the second-half with an unanswered 21 points.
